I bought this kimono for my trip to Kyoto and it was one of the best purchases I made. It was so easy to put on by myself, and I received many compliments from locals who appreciated that I was respectfully participating in their culture. The fabric is light but durable, and it folds up so small in my luggage. The instructions were very helpful too!
The kimono itself is beautiful and excellent quality. I love the pattern and the material feels durable yet lightweight. My only issue was that despite the instructions, the obi was still a bit challenging to tie properly by myself. Once I got the hang of it though, it was fine. Would recommend watching a few YouTube videos in addition to the included guide.
This kimono made my Japan trip so special. I wore it to several temples in Kyoto and for a tea ceremony, and it was perfect. It's much easier to wear than I expected, and I was able to put it on myself in about 5 minutes after a couple of practice runs. The fabric is beautiful and doesn't wrinkle easily. After my trip, I even wore it at home as a light robe - versatile and a wonderful souvenir of my trip.
